Course Substitutions for U. S. Constitution
If you don't see your course listed here, submit a course inquiry.
One course (two semester units or three quarter units) in the provisions and principles of the U.S. Constitution. The course should include content such as: the Bill of Rights, federalism, the separation of powers, and checks and balances.
There are several ways to meet this requirement:
1. Completed your Bachelors degree at a California State University (CSU).
2. Pass either the AP Government and Politics or AP U.S. History exam with a score of 3 or higher
3. Complete an approved college course. Please view the list on the right, for approved courses. If you have completed a course that you believe covers the U.S. Constitution but is not listed, please submit a Course Substitution Request, which can be found under the “Course Inquiry” tab. Please provide a copy of the syllabus.
4. Pass an approved US Constitution Exam, several options are listed on the list on the right under "UC Constitution Exam Options." There are online and in-person U.S. Constitution Exams options.
