PSC 131 - Developmental Psychopathy

2010 131. Developmental Psychopathology. (3) Two hours of lecture and one hour of discussion per week. Prerequisites: 130 or consent of instructor. This course will discuss linkages between developmental processes and child psychopathology. Included will be discussion of cognitive impairments in children, including learning disabilities and mental retardation; internalizing disorders, such as anxiety, withdrawal, and depression; externalizing disorders, such as attentiondeficit hyperactivity disorder and conduct disorder; and child abuse and neglect. Psychobiological, familial, legal, and societal factors will be emphasized.
