HIST 017 Hist/U.S. to 1865
Survey of the U.S. from the pre-colonial period through Reconstruction. This course will stress the development of the economic, social, political and cultural conditions that shaped the movements, events, and trends of this period of U.S. history. Special attention will be paid to analyzing cause-effect and comparative relationships among major historical developments. Three hours lecture.
