Introduction to derivatives, calculation of derivatives of algebraic and trigonometric functions; applications including curve sketching, related rates, and optimization. Antiderivatives. Prerequisite: pass the UCI Calculus Placement Test no more than one year before the start of the quarter in which Mathematics 2A will be taken, or receive a grade of C (2.0) or better in Mathematics 1B at UCI, or receive a score of 3 on the AP Calculus AB exam.
