This course explores the development of children from birth to adolescence, in a wide range of areas including biological, cognitive, linguistic, social, and personality development. It also covers the effects of genes, experience, and social context on children's development. Rationale: This course explained the trajectory of a child's life from the womb to adolescence. During my time in this course I had to observe children in a setting for a project, and I chose to observe them at my mentoring job at a local rec center. This enabled me to think about children in a different, scientific way that I had never really approached before taking this course.
