4 Credits/ (Formerly MATH 004) Prerequisite: MATH 175 with a grade of "C" or better or appropriate assessment Advisory: ENGL 035 or ESL 198 or appropriate assessment; READ 101 Transfers to: UC (credit limit*), CSU (*Students will receive credit from UC for only one of the following courses: MATH 160 or MATH 165 or MATH 180.) This course is designed to prepare students for the study of calculus. It presents a comprehensive study of linear, quadratic, polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, rational, and trigonometric functions. Inequalities, introductory analytical geometry, polar coordinates, polar equations and their graphs, DeMoivre's Theorem and an introduction to sequences are also included. This course is a prerequisite for Math 190.
