4 Credits/ (Formerly MATH 002) Prerequisite: MATH 070 or MATH 070D with a grade of "C" or better or appropriate assessment Advisory: ENGL 035 or ESL 198 or appropriate assessment; READ 023 or appropriate assessment Transfers to: UC (credit limit *), CSU (*Students will receive credit from UC for only one of the following courses: MATH 160 or MATH 165 or MATH 180.) This course will cover linear, quadratic, polynomial, power, exponential, and logarithmic functions and their applications. These functions will be approached from a graphical, numerical, and analytical point of view. This course serves as preparation for students planning to take MATH 170, Elements of Calculus. (Graphing technology will be required.)
