54.00 hrs lecture Units: 3.00 Prerequisite: MATH-152, MATH-153, or placement evaluation Accepted For Credit: CSU & UC This course is designed for liberal arts and education students and uses the concepts learned in Intermediate Algebra. It is a survey course of college mathematics with emphasis placed on the nature of mathematics, problem solving, and thinking patterns. Topics covered will be selected from the areas of sets and logic, methods of proof, elements of probability and statistics, geometry, systems of numeration, math of finance, basic trigonometry and calculus, math history, and linear programming.
