Surveys various practical areas of mathematics. Topics include finance, combinatorics and discrete probability, and modern geometry. Additional topics selected from logic, number theory, voting and apportionment, exponential and logarithmic functions, and mathematics in arts and music. Emphasizes real-world applications, critical thinking, and the effective communication of mathematical ideas. Approved for University Studies (Quantitative Reasoning-Strand D). Prerequisite(s): MTH 95or appropriate SOU placement level.
