MATH 1012 - Quantitative Reasoning and Mathematical Skills This course is intended for students who plan non-technical majors. The course surveys the range and the applicability of modern quantitative techniques to a variety of disciplines. Topics vary and may include finance, statistics, probability, linear and exponential modeling, unit conversion and applications of higher-level math accessible via computers. Critical thinking and mathematical and quantitative literacy are emphasized. It is assumed that students who take this course have a high-school level proficiency in mathematics (have completed geometry and a year of algebra).
