Foundations of mathematics provide a logical base to reason in mathematics and everyday life. Topics include set theory, combinatorics, probability, and various introductory topics in statistics such as graphical data representation, frequency distributions, sampling, normal density curve, correlation, and linear regression. Purchase of a specific brand and model of a graphing calculator is required. Prerequisite is MATH 1100with a grade of 'C' (2.0) or better or satisfactory score on the Adult Degree Completion Program mathematics placement exam. 4 lecture hours.
