Prerequisite: Placement through the assessment process or MATH 120 or 120SP or equivalent Note: This course has a lab requirement (see hours by arrangement in course listing). The labs will be assigned by your instructor and will be a significant portion of your course grade. The labs require computer and internet access, but may be completed in any location with such access, on or off campus. Students will learn how to apply techniques and concepts of intermediate algebra and critical thinking to the solving of contemporary problems in mathematics. The course is a survey of topics that may include (but are not limited to): exponential functions, logarithmic scales, probability, statistics, finance, matrix operations, logic and geometry.
