Lower-division courses are numbered from 100 through 299. These courses are designed primarily for Freshmen and Sophomores. Upper-division courses are numbered from 300 through 499. These courses are open to students who have completed the prerequisites to the course, if any, stated in the course description and other departmental regulations given in this Catalog.
1- 99: Courses which carry no-credit toward a degree or a credential. 100-199: Lower-division courses designed as freshman level, but also open to other students. 200-299: Lower-division courses designed as sophomore level, but also open to other students. 300-399: Upper-division courses designed as junior level; may be opened to “advanced” lower division students under special circumstances with prior approval. 400-499: Upper-division courses designed as senior level not open to lower division students and may be used for post-baccalaureate or graduate credit with prior approval.
001-099 Courses which carry no credit toward a degree or credential. Generally remedial or subcollegiate-level in content. 100-199 Lower-Division, introductory courses which constitute the beginning of college work in a major or in general education and which require no previous college experience. Open to Upper-Division students.
