This course is an in-depth study of American history from the Colonial through the American Civil War eras. This seminar style honors course utilizes class discussion based on the reading of selected monographs and primary documents. Particular emphasis s placed on the interrelationships of the developing American political, economic, social, and cultural institutions. Critical thinking skills are emphasized in responding to these issues.
